Chicago Baby | Fall 2008The biannual Chicago Parent supplement got a freshening up in 2008. Editorial content was reorganized into four categories covering pregnancy and the baby’s first year. Three short items on a right-hand page opened each section.
Chicago Parent | July 2007Chicago Parent’s special report on gang violence in Chicago needed a strong cover. Since the story focused on the death of one girl, it seemed fitting — for the first time ever and since — to have a cover without a child. Working with the editor and photographer, we finally settled on the empty swing signifying the absence of child.
